However, they are not always highly experienced or well trained. Most are just teenagers working after school or over the summer. Here at Blue Buoy, swim instruction isn’t a passing job: it is a passion and a career.

When you make us your Laguna Niguel swimming home, you benefit from lessons delivered by seasoned and talented instructors. Blue Buoy does not accept instructors under the age of 19, and they must be committed to remaining with our school—and thus their students—for the long term. Our instructors are competitive swimmers who must complete our in-house theoretical and hands-on training. We also ensure they are CPR certified and complete Live Scan fingerprinting and background checks for ultimate security.
